Just kidding. I don't know who's responsible for that quote. I wasn't able to find it in Bartlett's.

Yes, when he realized that he was being lied to by the Devil; that in fact he was accepted and empowered to walk in victory.

I like the part where he writes of going to the meeting "very unwillingly," as if he didn't expect much to happen there. It just goes to show how wrong we can be! And I can definitely relate to the heart being "strangely warmed," though my experience was accompanied by joy, whereas his apparently wasn't. Did the joy come later for him?

I will indeed! It will be posted next week.

I don't know if you have heard John Wesley's story or not. You can divide it into 4 stages: 1.) Early days in the "Holy Club", 2.) frustration and failure in early ministry attempts, 3.)his encounter with the Moravians and his conversion, and 4.) his role in the First Great Awakening and the beginnings of the Methodist Church.

It is a great lesson to us now. We can learn from Augustine and Wesley and from many others who God called (and chose) in the past.

Boy, that's the truth. Of course, you don't have to go all the way back to Augustine. John Wesley's testimony is beautiful too.

Thanks, Bob

How different from today, when all we say is "I've been born again" or "I've accepted Christ"!
